Dr. Richard Miron is currently lead educator and researcher at Advanced PRF Education and an Adjunct Visiting Faculty in the department of Periodontology in Bern, Switzerland where he completed his PhD studies since 2009. He and his research team are responsible for the development of the Bio-PRF system and largely pioneered the work on horizontal centrifugation for the production of PRF. He has currently published over 300 peer-reviewed articles and lectures internationally on many topics relating to growth factors, bone biomaterials and guided bone regeneration. Anton Sculean is professor and chairman of the Department of Periodontology and currently the Executive Director of the School of Dental Medicine, University of Berne, Switzerland. He is widely considered one of the top clinical researchers in periodontology. He received his postgraduate training at the Universities Münster, Germany and Royal Dental College Aarhus, Denmark and received his Habilitation (Ph.D.) at the University of Saarland, Homburg, Germany. From 2004 to 2008 he was appointed as Head of the Department of Periodontology and Program Director of the EFP accredited postgraduate program at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. In December 2008, he was appointed Professor and Chairman of the Department of Periodontology of the University of Bern, Switzerland. Professor Sculean has been a recipient of many research awards, among others the Anthony Rizzo Young Investigator Award of the Periodontal Research Group (PRG) of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), the IADR/PRG Award in Regenerative Periodontal Medicine, and the Distinguished Teacher Award of the European Orthodontic Society. He received honorary doctorates (Dr. h.c.) from the Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary and from the Victor Babes University in Timisoara, Romania and has authored more than 400 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 30 chapters in periodontal textbooks and has delivered more than 450 lectures at national and international meetings. He is the editor of the book Periodontal Regenerative Therapy published by Quintessence and current editor in Chief of Periodontology 2000. Professor Sculean also serves on the editorial board of more than 12 dental journals, among others Journal of Dental Research, Journal of Clinical Periodontology, Clinical Oral Implants Research, Journal of Periodontal Research and Clinical Advances in Periodontics and is Associate Editor of Quintessence International, Clinical Oral Investigations, Section Editor of BMC Oral Health and Editor in Chief of Oral Health and Preventive Dentistry. Professor Sculean served from 2009-2010 as president of the Periodontal Research Group of the IADR, is past president of the Swiss Society of Periodontology, President (for the period 2018-2019) of the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP) and President Elect of the International Academy of Periodontology (IAP) (for the period 2018-2020). Very recently he was elected as board member of the Osteology Foundation and member of the Workshop Committee of the EFP. His research interests focus on periodontal wound healing, regenerative and plastic-aesthetic periodontal therapy, growth factors, antiseptics and novel approaches such as lasers and photodynamic therapy in the treatment of periodontal and peri-implant infections.
Dr Gluckman completed his dental training at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1990. After spending a number of years in general practice he completed a 4-year full time degree in Oral Medicine and Periodontics at the University of Stellenbosch in Cape Town, which he completed with distinction (cum Laude) in 1998. He was intimately involved in the development of the postgraduate diploma in Implantology at both the University of Stellenbosch and later at the University of Western Cape. He is currently in full time private practice in Cape Town. He is the director of the Implant & Aesthetic Academy, which is a private post graduate training facility in South Africa currently providing a complete postgraduate training program in Implantology in South Africa. She was a visitor researcher at the Institute for Biomaterials, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg-Germany (FAU) in 2018 where she performed several projects to develop nano-structured biomaterials for bone regeneration applications. She was awarded with the international Osteology Foundation Scholarship in 2019. She developed several research projects in the peri-implantitis field with Dr. Frank Schwarz at the Goethe University in Frankfurt-Germany. Dr. Galarraga-Vinueza has been awarded with two scientific prizes in Ecuador and Spain. She has currently published several book chapters in USA, Brazil, and Latin América and numerous international publications with high impact factor.
Graduated in 2004, Dr. Vittorio Moraschini performed specialization in the areas of Periodontics and Implantodontia. In addition to clinical activity in the office located in the neighborhood of Icaraí in Niterói-RJ, Dr. Vittorio Moraschini is a university professor at undergraduate and graduate levels (specialization / Master / Doctorate) and, also working in the research area having published more than 50 articles in international journals with high impact factor and book chapters. Masako is a maxillofacial surgeon and assistant professor at Tokushima University, Japan. She was awarded a 2-year fellowship from Japan to study at the University of Bern where her primary focus is directed to research activities. Previously he was Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of Hamburg and later Associate Professor in the Dept. of Conservative Dentistry and Periodontology at the University of Kiel. He received his Dental and his Medical Degree from the University of Hamburg in 1981 and 1986 and a MS in Periodontology from Loma Linda University, California, USA, in 1992. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He has served on the board of the German Society of Periodontology and is board member of the European Federation of Periodontology. Dr. Raluca Cosgarea, a specialist parodontologist, graduated in 2005 from the Faculty of Dental Medicine at Ruprecht-Karl University in Heidelberg, Germany.
